MG Marketing Wins Marketer of The Year 2019!
What a fun night!!!!!!!!! Gotta say, I’m on top of the world this week. Following up our big win with the Dallas Mavericks last week, MG was named a finalist for the American Marketing Association annual “Marketer of The Year” awards in the B2B category. Naturally, our core team attended the gala and awards events, full of hope and optimism, that maybe, just maybe, it would be our night for a big win.
The gala was held at Vouv Meeting & Event Space in Dallas, a first-class place, hosting DFW’s best and brightest when it comes to marketing. We were honored to be in such great company for an evening of recognition and celebration. After mixing and mingling, entering the silent auction, and choosing our favorite cocktails, we settled in at our table for the group dinner. As I looked around, I recall being tremendously proud of our team for the hard work they pour into every client, day in, day out. Just being named a finalist felt great, and the team had earned this night to celebrate and reflect on many jobs well done. The work we do is strategic, it builds our clients’ brands, and drives sales.
Fast forward to the awards portion of the evening – our category, B2B Branding, was up first and I felt the butterflies in my stomach as the MC read off the other four finalists. That’s when it got surreal for me. Before announcing the winner outright, he read the background snippet on the winner, and I knew we had won! “MG Marketing”, boomed the MC over the mic – I jumped up in excitement, grabbed Cameron and Dillon and we headed to the stage to collect our hardware. Thank you DFW AMA, for this recognition and all your hard work be a resource in our industry, and help professional marketers grow via continuing education, training and networking.
This award has meaning on so many levels. Specifically, it’s recognition for our vision and creative execution of the Clarus Glassboards rebrand in early 2018. Clarus has been an amazing client since day one of MG Marketing. We’ve grown and enjoyed tremendous success together. I’m grateful to everyone at Clarus for the opportunity and trust granted in us over the years. Bryce Stuckenschneider, prior VP of Marketing, and I pushed each other higher and further than ever during the rebrand project, focused on a mutual goal of taking Clarus to the next level. This award is validation that a small agency can scale and continue to add significant value, even once it’s already taken a client to the mountain top.
Finally, it’s a personal recognition and reflection moment for a great friendship with Clarus co-founder, Robby Whites. Robby and I have known each other since 2010, very early in the history of Clarus. He took a chance on us, and frankly, we took a chance on Clarus. Together, we built an amazing brand that is widely regarded as the leader in their industry. Without his vision, trust and friendship, Clarus would not be where it is today, and we wouldn’t have had the opportunities afforded to us, to lead their marketing. Cheers Robby – we did it!
